Mingalarbar. (meaning Auspiciousness to you all) I am Richard and my Burmese name is Dr. Tun Nay Lin. I am a proprietor and the owner of this tour company together with my beloved wife, Dr. Swe Zin Maung, who is also the Managing Director of this company. It's easier to call her as 'Swe' if you wish.
Our story begins with my late mother (1951-2011), known as 'Khin' by her beloved tourists. She used to be a tour guide, being fluent in three languages - French, English & Chinese. It was in my teenage years when my mother enjoyed the profession of tour guiding for many tourists visiting Myanmar from year 1992 - 2000. My mother was a good story teller as she used to be. Every time she got home from a trip, she always tried to tell us about her trip; about the tourists she met and the places she visited, often with the stories and history behind the places. Trip after trip & story after story, I gradually fell in love with the stories & the places she talked about. Since that time, a strong desire with a vivid vision had occurred to me that one day, I would visit all the places I heard from my mother.
Driven by my dream to travel, my completed bucket list at the age of 33 include : Upper Myanmar - Naypyitaw, Taunggu, Magway, Minbuu, Shwe Settaw, Bagan, Popa, Salay, Pakkoku, Monywa, Sagaing, Innwa (AVA), Amarapura, Mandalay, Mingun, Pyin Oo Lwin, Hsipaw, Lashio, etc. Eastern Myanmar - Kalaw, Pinndaya, Inle lake, Taunggyi, Kakku, Kengtung, Tachileik, etc. Western Myanmar - Sittwe, Mrauk U, Ngapali Beach. Lower Myanmar - Yangon, Thanlyin (Syriam), Kyauktan, Pyay, Pathein, Ngwe Saung Beach & Chaung Tha Beach, Bago, Pha An, Myawaddy, Thahton, Kyaikhto, Mawlamyaing (Moulmein), Thanpyuzayat, Setse Beach, Dawei, Myeik, Kawthaung, etc.
Still, there are many places left for me to visit in Myanmar. From my list, you can know that our country, Myanmar (also known as Burma) possesses so many different places of interest in many parts of the country.
Through all these years of traveling, my passion to invest myself in travel for all my life grew stronger and stronger until one day, I was trapped in my mind to ask myself "Why don't I help the tourists around the world to visit Myanmar like my mother did during her days? "
Being hunted day and night by that thought, I finally decided to start my own travel business in Yangon in 2012, a year after the military junta stepped down from the ruling stage for the first time in 50 years to initiate the reform process and subsequently, the country has opened up once again after decades of shutting down. One of the best turning points is that more & more tourists will visit Myanmar.
One thing I had learned from my mother about providing tourism services to tourists is to keep your focus on them throughout the tour and open up all your senses to fulfill their rightful needs & wants in time.
I still remember she once told us about her ideas and her ways of professional practices likewise “Clients first. Clients second. Clients third." And I can also recall what she often said after the trips that "Although my responsibility ends when my tourists get onto the plane and fly back, my thoughts always follow them until I know that they've finally arrived home safe & smooth".
Being imprinted by my mother's good spirits and professional practices, we have never failed a single client of tourist under my company's name since we have launched our tourism services as a licensed tour operator for destinations all over Myanmar (Burma) in 2012.
Now that, we are in our fourth year of business and we have already provided our professional services to more than 1,200 clients (as of 30 April 2015). Within next 3 years from the year 2015, we believe in ourselves that we will reach the next level of success & growth of the company by maintaining our good focus on clients while improving our quality of services and creating more values in terms of unique & colorful touring experiences.
