Day - 01 Arrival Yangon

Arrive Yangon by morning/midday flight. Welcome and transfer to your hotel. Break at your hotel until afternoon sightseeing starts. Walking tour is conducted amidst of city center viewing Yangon Heritage buildings & people in different walks of life. Visit the Chaukhtatgyi - the colossal reclining Buddha, the dazzling Shwedagon Pagoda observing lively sacred activities and merit makers. Overnight at Yangon.


Day - 02 Yangon – Mandalay

Pack your breakfast box. Early morning flight to Mandalay, the last capital of Myanmar kingdom founded in 1857 AD. From airport to city centre, drive almost an hour. En-route visit Amarapura, the former capital before Mandalay. U Bein wooden bridge (1.2 km) built over 160 years is a renowned common relaxation site. Nearby Mahagandayon monastery is the largest Buddhist learning centre. Mahamuni Buddha Image is believed to be cast in front of Buddha himself and nowadays richly bejeweled and thickly gilded. Local industries such as gold leaf hammering, marble carving, and tapestry making. Afternoon sightseeing includes Shwenandaw monastery – still existing masterpiece of last Myanmar kingdom's architecture in teak and wood carving & Kuthodaw Pagoda – renowned as the world's largest book and UNESCO’s heritage site. End the day at Mandalay Hill, regarded a natural watch tower in the plain region of Mandalay – to view the sunset. Overnight at Mandalay.


Day - 03 Mandalay: Inwa & Mingun

Breakfast at the hotel. Drive to Inwa (1364-1840 AD) also a former Royal capital of Myanmar located at the confluence of the Ayeyarwaddy River and Myitnge River. After crossing the Myitnge River by small boat, take a horse-carriage along the bumpy road to visit the ruins of the old royal capital includes the watch tower, the 27 meter tall leaning tower of old royal palace; Mahaaungmyebonzan monastery, the impressive brick and stucco monastery; Bargaya monastery – a splendid teak wood monastery with wood carving.

Afternoon tour to Mingun village - it takes about an hour for the boat ride up-river to reach Mingun, located at the other side of the Ayeyarwaddy River in the north of Mandalay. The boat ride is always pleasant as one can learn the ways of local life along the river. Sightseeing to Pathodawgyi – believed to be one of the largest brick base in the world and it would be one of the wonders of the world in case if it was completed; Mingun bell – said to be world's biggest un-cracked and ringing bell and Myatheindan pagoda represents for Buddhist cosmology. Overnight at Mandalay.


Day - 04 Mandalay - Bagan by River Cruise (Estimate 8 hours)

Mandalay - Bagan : 129 nautical miles / Mandalay to Bagan: down river Carrier vessels – RV Shwekeinnery, RV MGRGand RV Malikha are plying between Mandalay and Bagan.
Depart - 07:00, Estimate arrival to Nyaung U Jetty - 16:00

Enjoy and relax along mighty Ayeyarwaddy River. View the riverside villages at distance, fishing boats, drifting rafts and agricultural fields. Arrive by late afternoon to Nyaung U Jetty which is located at just above of old Bagan. Transfer to your hotel.

Alternative access by private car
Generally between mid-March to mid-October, River vessel services are available in limited days or in some months, totally shut down. Transportation by private car from Mandalay to Bagan (5 hours’ drive) will be used instead.


Day - 05 Bagan

Breakfast at hotel. Pick up by tour guide to see Bagan (11-13 AD), one of Asia's most popular archaeological destinations and one, out of two most pre-eminent religious old cities in South East Asia. Commence the day at a high temple where can see the panorama of Bagan. Sulamani temple was maintained by UNESCO as the stuccos and mural painting are still in good and precious. Gubyaukgyi Temple( Myingaba village) – the 12th century 'cave temple' with fine frescoes of Jataka scenes; Anada Temple, one of the masterpieces surviving and remaining in Bagan and considered to be in the Mon architecture style. A visit to the lacquer ware factory followed by a visit to a local village. Overnight at Bagan.


Day - 06 Bagan

After breakfast, morning visit bustling Nyaung Oo market. The ruined and scattered temples near Minanthu area is a worth exploration for its man-made grotto, frescos and tranquil ambiance. Lawkananda stupa sits by Shore of Ayeyarwaddy River & it is a favourite spot for local pilgrimage. Afternoon proceed to Shwezigon ceti considered as a holiest one. Htilominlo is one of the elegant temple still in good its stuccos. Have a bird’s eye view of Bagan by a different corner. Cool down your day at a forest monastery and Myingabar village. At night, enjoy the amazing Dandaree show with state-of-the-art performance, reflecting the gracious history & culture of Bagan Dynasty. Overnight at Bagan.


 


Day - 07 Bagan - Inle Lake

Upon arrival to Heho airport by morning flight, drive (50 min) to Nyaung Shwe, the gate way to Inle Lake. Inle Lake exists 970 meters above the sea level and this lake is the home land of Inthar tribe. Visit the regional rotating marketplace held in every fifth day around the lake if today coincides with the market day. Phaungdawoo Pagoda, famous for its richly gilded five small Buddha images and its history. Ngaphechaung monastery (known as jumping cat monastery for trained jumping cats), over 160 years old monastery with its collection of ancient artifacts. Other attractions includeunique leg-rowing style and fishing method of the Innthar; floating gardens and vegetable plantations; weaving factory and black smith. Overnight at Inle Lake.


Day - 08 Inle Lake: Indein

Breakfast at the hotel. Board on the boat to the south-west by a small twist and turn creek running into the lake to reach the Indein village, a small village located at the south western bank of the lake, famous for its ruined clusters of pagodas dated back to 16th century. The tranquility, peaceful ambience and ruins overgrown among bushes would bring you to centuries back. In the late afternoon, if time permits, walk or take a bicycle to explore around Nyaung Shwe and beyond. Overnight at Inle Lake.


Day - 09 Inle Lake - Yangon

Say good bye to Inthar people by morning flight from Heho to Yangon. Upon arrival back to Yangon, it’s time for shopping at Bogyoke Aung San Market (closed on Mondays and Gazette holidays), where you can have varieties of goods ranging from jewelry & handicrafts to clothing and local food & snacks. Continue to the Chinatown area, a bustling part of Yangon for all day long especially in the late afternoon. Overnight in Yangon


Day - 10 Departure Yangon

Day trip to Pyin Oo Lwin

Breakfast at hotel. Drive to Pyin Oo Lwin, 65km north east of Mandalay, is a famous hill station and summer resort. The road to Pyin Oo Lwin winds up the hill and there are many hairpin bends along the way. View point at 21 miles one can have a bird’s-eye view of Mandalay at the distance below. Visit central market and clock tower. Botanical gardenabundant with different kinds of flowers, shrubs, plants, beautiful lawns, huge trees providing shades. A Chinese temple(Joss-house) is worth to visit. The Pwegauk waterfall is full of scenic idylls for a picnic or an excursion. Return to Mandalay in the evening.

Witnessing how the hot air balloons are launched (Duration: 1.5 - 2 hours)

Even you decide not to take the balloon ride this time, it’s always so much fun & excitement to see how these balloons are being launched and flying up into the sky. We can provide you this exclusive experience if you are willing to get up early in the morning.

Pick up at your hotel by our local tour guide in the early morning around 5:00 am via a private a/c van. Make sure your DSLR is ready when you get to the launching site. You will see closely how these balloons are being inflated and the entire launching process before they are released into the sky by their respective pilot.

As soon as the balloons are starting to flying, we will drive to a nearby temple which has a huge potential for a clear & close up view of flying Balloons passing by you. When the balloons become smaller to your sight, you will be transferred back to hotel.
